Public Sector Workforce 2030 Summit: Mark Your Calendars!

On September 27th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, SLGE, the National League of Cities, and ICMA-RC will host a summit, ‘Public Sector Workforce 2030: Planning for the Next Generation of State and Local Government Employees.’
Discussions will focus on rethinking retirement, workforce trends, and health and wellness benefits. The event will be geared toward a diverse mix of elected officials, government agency managers, retirement administrators, HR professionals, labor representatives, and members of the research community.

Conference Presentations

SLGE’s director of research Rivka Liss-Levinson, PhD presented the Center’s recent financial literacy research at the National Association of State Treasurers 2019 Treasury Management Training Symposium in Providence, RI. The panel, “No More Excuses: Time for an Employee Financial Wellness (Pay) Check-Up,” was moderated by Maine State Treasurer Henry Beck, and included Adam Chapdelaine, Town Manager, Town of Arlington, MA, and Bonnie Wallace, Channel Manager, Hands On Banking, Wells Fargo.

 

Meanwhile, Gerald Young shared SLGE’s retirement and workforce research as part of a panel on “What a Finance Director Should Know” at the Government Finance Officers Association conference in Los Angeles, CA, along with Alex Brown of NASRA, Paul Angelo of Segal Consulting, and Tim Skillman of CalPERS.
