Workforce of the Future: Infographic and Webinar
The Center for State and Local Government Excellence (SLGE) has just completed a new infographic on state and local employment projections through 2026. This represents an excerpt from a longer upcoming report on the Workforce of the Future: Strategies to Manage Change, which was also be featured in a webinar on Tuesday, October 2.
In-Person Dialogue
SLGE staff will be at the ICMA Annual Conference in Baltimore, September 23-26, and among other sessions, will be conducting roundtable discussions around fostering a financially literate workforce (Tues., 11:45am) and exploring non-traditional staffing (Wed., 11:15am). SLGE will also partner with the National League of Cities to discuss the state of local retirement and health benefits (Tues., 4:00pm).

SLGE staff presented at a National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) Public Pension Funding Forum in September regarding pension cuts and public agency recruitment. October’s calendar includes a presentation on national workforce trends at the annual conference of the League of Kansas Municipalities.
